Visit Whitehaven was founded by Luke Johnston in 2013, as if by chance. Council cuts forced the closure of Whitehaven Tourist Information Centre. Luke believed Whitehaven wasn't getting recognised and appreciated to its full potential for the Georgian Gem it is. Visit Whitehaven was launched and has since proved a large success, with annual events, information for tourists and the latest news for residents, Visit Whitehaven is now the largest Whitehaven based website on the internet.
