An inspirational girl has raised money which will be used to purchase Personal Protective Equipment for the NHS and District Nursing staff.
Lottie Campbell, 6, from Cleator Moor has raised over £600 for frontline NHS staff in the Whitehaven area.
Carleane Campbell, Lotties mum said
“We where watching Daley Rodgers who was playing live for the Cleator Moor Covid 19 Action Group on Sunday night and Lottie wanted to have a go herself. Her auntie, Ellen Newlands works on the frontline at West Cumberland Hospital so she wanted to raise £20 to be able to buy her a mask.”
Lottie said “I want to raise money to buy auntie Ellen a mask to keep her safe”
Carleane added
“We set up a Just Giving page and she went LIVE singing. There is now over £600 raised so we will be donating the money to Unite the Unions appeal to donate PPE to NHS and staff locally”
“We are so so proud of our little girl for having this lovely idea, which she thought up all by herself. We can’t thank everyone enough in supporting her and making a little girls day, whilst making an amazing amount of money for an amazing cause.”
Mike Starkie, Elected Mayor of Copeland said:
“This is another heart warming story of how the community are pulling together, fantastic to see some one so young but absolutely engaged with helping others, from all that I see and hear I think one of the positives of this crisis is that we will come out the other end a better more caring Country than we were before it started, well done young lady!”
