Community help family bid farewell to mum

MONEY has poured in to help four children pay for their mum’s funeral.

Dianne Milfull, who was 39 and had recently moved to Low Moresby, died on March 8.

Miss Milfull did not have life insurance and had not made any funeral preparations so her children: Sophie, 21, Shannon, 17, and five-year-old twins Jayden and Joshua, decided to start an online fundraising page to help cover the costs of her funeral.

They raised £3,235 with 122 donations in nine days, and the family have thanked those who donated to their cause.

Miss Milfull was a former pupil at Ehenside School in Cleator Moor then Wyndham School in Egremont. She worked as a home carer.

Passionate about cars, shoes and shopping, she was always happy to help and left a big impression on everyone she met.

Sophie said: “It’s not something you really think about when you’re 39 and in the prime of your life. It would mean a lot for us to know that even though she didn’t really have any plans set we managed to come together, not just her family but her friends, to give her the funeral she deserves.”

Since Miss Milfull’s death, the family has received offers to provide flowers and help out with the funeral, as well as plenty of messages of support.

“She was welcoming to everybody and would never say no to them. If you rang her at 3am and asked for a chat she would always be there to help.”
