An adrenaline pumped 100 year old gent will celebrate his triple figure birthday by jumping from a plane.

This comes 74 years after he previously fell from the sky as a troop in the army.

Thomas Hodgson, who lives in Cleator Moor, will put on a parachute once again to mark his 100th birthday with a skydive today Sunday 7th July. He will be raising money for two fantastic charities Cancer Research UK and The Great North Air Ambulance.

Thomas has been busy all this week with celebrations, Thomas has enjoyed meeting with friends and having the family around.

Mr Hodgson received a card from the Queen and another from Amber Rudd, secretary of state for work and pensions.

However, he did not want any gifts - only asking for donations to the two amazing charities.

One of his family members, grand-daughter Anna Procter commented 'He is such a loving person and is such an inspiration to everyone around him. Words can't describe how proud we are of him'

We wish Thomas a very happy birthday and hope he enjoys his fantastic and courageous sky dive today.

You can make a donation to either charities by going to their websites.
