St Benedict’s Catholic High School are pleased to reveal the findings of their recent OFSTED inspection. The school is delighted with its GOOD rating, following the inspection in December 2019.
A letter has been sent to St Benedict’s parents today informing them of the school’s rating, and allowing them to view the report on their website.
The report recognises that the school has been through considerable change over the last few years, but that standards continue to improve and behaviour is good.
The report also states that pupils work hard and that lessons are engaging. The inspectors also comment on the range of activities and events that are available to pupils in school.During the inspection, there was a particular focus on mathematics. The inspectors commented on how well the curriculum in maths is ordered and planned. They acknowledge the vast amount of information that pupils have to learn in maths, and asked that the school continue to raise expectations about what pupils can achieve in all subjects, including maths.
Mrs Jackson, Headteacher commented:
“We are absolutely delighted that the school has been judged as GOOD in all areas. It is testimony to the hard work of all the staff and students over the last two years. We are particularly pleased that OFSTED acknowledged the good behaviour in school and the rich and varied experiences our pupils
receive.”
“We will continue to provide the good standard of education that our parents and the wider community have come to expect, as we move forward in our new building at Campus Whitehaven.”
