A reputable independent Cumbrian travel agency are celebrating after being shortlisted for prestigious travel industry awards.
The agency has had two of their stores, Whitehaven and Workington shortlisted for ‘The Top Agency in the North West of England’ which is voted for by the industry itself. These awards are hosted by the travel industries leading media outlet Travel Trade Gazette (TTG).
When the shortlist of agencies was announced last Monday (14th December) Tricia and Leanne were ‘over the moon’ after a difficult year in the industry, Tricia said: “We are so proud to have both of our shops in Whitehaven and Dunmail Park, Workington in the final five. This is an amazing achievement for all at Cumbria Travel. After such a hard year this is a huge boost to our amazing teams.”
The company employs many members of staff and having worked tirelessly through the pandemic providing help and support to their own customers and others who were struggling to keep up with the ever-changing travel restrictions, both Leanne and Tricia are extremely proud of their team.
“We are so thankful to them and of course our loyal customers who have supported us since the day we opened" said Tricia.
The dynamic travelprennuers who both used to work for large firms decided in late 2014 that they wanted to setup their own agency, providing something different and local to the Cumbrian high-street, a decision which has proved to be a hit among consumers and fellow industry friends.
Cumbria Travel's Whitehaven store won Top Travel Agency in the North West 2018 and the Dunmail Park branch, was runner-up in 2019 and 2020. They will find out where they place in the 2021 awards in mid-March.
